Donald Trump found himself the target of relentless mockery from ABC viewers after he spent two full hours in the White House Situation Room debating a potential agreement with Iran, only to emerge without reaching any final decision.
On Friday, May 29, the 79-year-old president gathered with his team in the Situation Room to debate signing a deal that would pause the ongoing conflict with Iran. However, despite sitting through the extensive two-hour discussion, the session ended without any official resolution announced.
When ABC anchor Whit Johnson delivered the latest updates on the gathering, the audience’s reaction was overwhelmingly unimpressed. The Situation Room meeting had already raised eyebrows, especially since Trump seemed preoccupied—he was actively posting photos of King Charles’ state visit on social media while the critical talks were supposedly happening.
Addressing the audience, Johnson reported, “Tonight President Trump is weighing a decision on a deal with Iran, meeting with advisors for two hours in the Situation Room, but still no final decision, and a key sticking point that Trump said must be part of the deal.”
The anchor then handed the broadcast over to ABC’s chief White House correspondent, Mary Bruce, for further details. She shared, “President Trump today huddling in the Situation Room for over two hours with his national security team to make a quote, ‘final determination’ about a possible deal with Iran to extend the ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.”
