Melania Trump Boasts About Destroying Jackie Kennedy’s Rose Garden and Americans Are Furious

It might be difficult to envision someone as ineffective in their role as First Lady as Donald Trump was as President. Fortunately, we don’t have to imagine it, because we have Melania Trump.

Much like her husband, she remains in the public eye, even though it’s been several years since she was in the White House.

I hope her absence is due to shame, considering how disrespectfully she treated the place. After treating her time there like a burden, she didn’t even extend the traditional “tea and tour” to the incoming First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, a custom observed for 112 years.

As our series on Melania’s promotional ads for her upcoming memoir has shown, she holds a high opinion of her performance as First Lady.

The latest video clip, posted on her social media account on X, highlights this. Melania is now boasting about how she “renovated” the Rose Garden at the White House.

In the video, Melania describes the process as if her ideas were crucial to preserving tradition and maintaining the connection Americans feel with this iconic part of the nation’s most honored residence.

“When the committee for the preservation of the White House asked me to renovate the Rose Garden, I felt a deep responsibility to respect tradition and preserve its grandeur for future generations. In my book, I share the story of this journey, how my team and I worked to safeguard this piece of our history.”

However, history doesn’t quite see it that way. In fact, Melania seems to ignore the widespread outrage in America over the changes, both in the video and presumably in her book.

Historian Michael Beschloss wrote a scathing critique of the alterations she made to the Rose Garden, which led to an immediate petition after Biden’s victory for Jill to restore the garden to its “former glory.”

Beschloss tweeted at the time that Melania’s work on the Rose Garden was an “evisceration.”

Indeed, the petition to have Biden restore Jackie Kennedy’s garden described Melania’s changes as “a boring tribute to herself,” adding that “Jackie’s legacy was ripped away from Americans who remembered all that the Kennedys meant to us.”

Clearly, Melania still feels proud enough about it to feature it in an ad for her book. This isn’t much different from how she proudly included her nude photos, another topic in her book, in her increasingly peculiar ads.

Ultimately, you can decide whether she should be boasting about angering half the country just to sell more copies of her memoir.

As expected, people on social media were appalled:
