Donald Trump expressed outrage on Truth Social following Stephanie Ruhle’s appearance on “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
On Saturday, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to criticize Friday night’s episode of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
In his post, Trump complained about the “increasingly boring” talk show and took issue with host Bill Maher for featuring MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle, whom he disparagingly referred to as a “‘dumb as a rock’ bimbo.”

A widely shared clip from the episode shows Ruhle and Maher attempting to persuade conservative New York Times columnist Bret Stephens to support Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. While Stephens stated he would not vote for Trump, he hesitated to endorse Harris due to uncertainty about her political positions.
Ruhle argued that preventing a Trump victory was reason enough to support Harris. She stated, “She’s running against Trump. We have two choices. And so there are some things you might not know her answer to, and in 2024, unlike 2016 for a lot of the American people, we know exactly what Trump will do, who he is, and the kind of threat he is to democracy.”
Maher humorously compared Stephens’ reluctance to “the dog we’re trying to get in the car to go the vet.”

Trump’s criticism extended beyond Ruhle to include Maher and Stephens, describing Maher as a “befuddled mess, sloppy and tired,” and labeling Stephens a “Trump hating loser.”
This incident echoes a similar controversy from 2016 when Trump faced backlash for retweeting a post that called Megyn Kelly a “bimbo” after she criticized his use of derogatory language about women.
