“I caught a bit of Stephen Colbert’s interview on the heavily government-funded PBS and found it interesting for just one reason — why are they wasting time and taxpayer money on this complete and total loser?” Trump expressed on his Truth Social account late Tuesday. “He’s not funny, despite being overpaid to be, he’s not insightful, he’s VERY BORING, and his show is suffering from a severe lack of viewers.”

Taking a clear shot at Colbert’s declining ratings, Trump praised Fox News host Greg Gutfeld, claiming that Gutfeld is “dominating” Colbert in the ratings battle.

“CBS should cancel his contract and hire almost anyone off the street who would perform better and for FAR LESS MONEY,” Trump added. “Or I could suggest someone more talented and smarter who would do it for FREE! The silver lining for Stephen is that the two FOOLS on NBC & ABC aren’t much better than him!”

During his interview on PBS Newshour, Colbert was asked if he would consider having Trump back on his show, which he has hosted since 2014. Colbert candidly responded, “I’ve had him on before, and he was kind of boring, so no. I prefer not to have guests who aren’t honest agents of their own ideas.”

Colbert further stated that many politicians aren’t worth his time, particularly those who simply pander to the audience. “That’s just no fun,” he remarked.

Trump’s criticisms of late-night hosts, including Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel, have become a recurring theme in his commentary since leaving office. Last week, he had an extensive discussion with Gutfeld, promoting the Fox program as a strong right-wing alternative to mainstream late-night shows.
