President Donald Trump has expressed his sentiments regarding the tragic deaths of director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, who were discovered in their Brentwood home on Sunday with injuries reportedly inflicted by a knife.

Trump characterized the loss of the couple in a suspected homicide as “a very sad thing.”
In a subsequent post on Truth Social, he elaborated on his view that Reiner suffered from severe “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” suggesting that this condition may have driven the attacker to madness.
Reiner had been a persistent critic of Trump, frequently warning the public about the alleged damage Trump would cause to the nation during both his first and second terms in office.
According to Newsweek, Reiner stated in a 2017 interview with Variety that he believed Trump was “mentally unfit” for the presidency, calling him the single most unqualified individual to ever hold the office.
The following year, the filmmaker went further, describing Trump as a “mentally ill sociopath.”
The prominent Democratic activist also attributed the 2022 assault on Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, directly to Trump’s challenges regarding the legitimacy of the 2020 election results.
Law enforcement officials are currently treating the case as a potential homicide and are investigating a family member, as reported by Breitbart News.
TMZ was the first to break the story that Reiner—celebrated for directing classics such as Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, and When Harry Met Sally—and his wife were found deceased at their Brentwood estate.
