According to a recent report, some of Donald Trump’s own campaign team are feeling “disgusted” with him, highlighting a deep frustration within the ranks. The Atlantic’s Tim Alberta, who has been closely tracking the Trump 2024 campaign, notes that many staff members are disillusioned and increasingly disheartened by the campaign’s internal issues.

One staffer, speaking to Alberta last month following John Kelly’s comments about Trump’s admiration for authoritarian figures, expressed doubts about staying on the campaign: “I don’t know how much longer I can put up with this. I’m not sure I can see this campaign through.” Alberta also shared on CNN and MSNBC that several campaign members feel “exhaustion, resentment, and at times, disgust” toward Trump, despite their dedication.

Alberta’s Atlantic article further reveals that many on Trump’s team are burnt out and even considering quitting as they approach the final stretch of the campaign. As Trump strengthened ties with figures like Laura Loomer and Elon Musk, and with Corey Lewandowski acting independently, morale reportedly plummeted. For many who once felt energized about reelecting Trump, months of chaos and scandals have led to a “change of heart.”

While campaign insiders were optimistic about Trump’s chances a few weeks ago, Alberta believes that confidence has waned. “There’s a real fear now that things are unraveling at the worst possible time,” he told CNN, adding that the campaign may be closing on a notably weak note.
