Metal Music Festival Faces Band Withdrawals After Announcing Kyle Rittenhouse as a Guest

If you were planning to attend the Shell Shock II music festival in Orlando and are a fan of Kyle Rittenhouse, you might be pleased.

Texts from Kyle Rittenhouse expressing a desire to 'murder' shoplifters have disillusioned his former spokesperson.

However, if you were looking forward to seeing some of the bands, including the headliner Evergreen Terrace, you’re out of luck. It seems they have chosen not to share the stage with Rittenhouse.

As a result, the new headliner for Shell Shock II, according to Loudwire, will now be a Slipknot tribute band.

Yes, you read that correctly—the festival has resorted to featuring a cover band as its main act after announcing Rittenhouse’s attendance.

The situation escalated when Evergreen Terrace decided to withdraw from the event.

In their statement, they said, “Evergreen Terrace has always supported and continues to support philanthropic events for veterans, PTSD awareness, child poverty, and many more causes. However, we cannot align ourselves with an event that promotes individuals like Kyle Rittenhouse, who capitalizes on their notoriety. Unfortunately, we did not conduct our due diligence regarding this event. Even after the offer to remove Kyle from the lineup, we found several associated entities with which we fundamentally disagree. As advocates for free speech, we are respectfully canceling our participation in the Shell Shock festival. We will be making a personal contribution to a veterans charity and encourage others to do the same. The promoters have been nothing but understanding. ‘The lines we draw in the sand depend on where we stand.’”

Rittenhouse, who shot three individuals, resulting in two deaths during a racial injustice protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020, claimed self-defense and was acquitted of all charges.

All three bands involved released statements indicating their desire to avoid political entanglements.

Meanwhile, festival organizers, including The Antihero Podcast, have responded, stating, “We have remained silent, but we are preparing. The liberal mob attempted to dismantle Shell Shock, but we will not let that happen. This has become about more than just a concert; it’s a battle of ideologies.”
