Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna has warned that President Donald Trump could be targeted for impeachment if the Republicans lose the House in the 2026 midterm elections. During her appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle with host Laura Ingraham on Wednesday, Luna argued that a shift in House control would open the door for impeachment proceedings against Trump.

Trump faced two impeachments during his first term—one over accusations of pressuring Ukraine to investigate his political foes and another following the January 6 Capitol riot. In both cases, the Senate fell short of the two-thirds majority necessary to convict him, allowing him to remain in office. Adding another twist to the political landscape, Texas Democrat Representative Al Green recently introduced Articles of Impeachment against Trump over allegations involving an “ethnic cleansing” threat in Gaza.
During the interview, Luna also addressed the recent vandalism of Elon Musk’s Tesla vehicles, which she said symbolized the protests against both Musk and Trump, amid a noticeable decline in the company’s stock value. She criticized what she described as the left’s “hypocrisy”—pointing out their simultaneous targeting of Musk while engaging in similar protest tactics. Luna urged voters to actively support their local representatives, warning that the upcoming midterm contests would be exceptionally brutal. She remarked, “Make sure you are supporting your local electeds because they’re gonna get nasty, we’re coming up on the mid-terms. I do believe that President Trump will hold the House but again, it’s gonna be a metaphorical knife fight.” Ingraham responded by emphasizing the critical nature of this election, suggesting that the Democrats were laying the groundwork for another impeachment of Trump. Luna concurred, stating, “No, if we lose the House, mark my words, they will absolutely launch an impeachment of President Trump and try to stifle everything great that he’s doing for this country.”
Adding another layer to the debate, White House deputy press secretary Harrison Fields told Newsweek that Democrats continue to focus on what he called “publicity stunts” that run counter to what American voters want. He maintained that Trump was elected in a historic landslide to implement an America First agenda and warned that Democrats must either back his vision or face further election losses.
At present, Republicans hold majorities in both the House and Senate. For impeachment proceedings to gain momentum in the aftermath of the 2026 midterms, the Democrats would need to secure dramatic gains, particularly in the Senate where a two-thirds vote would be required for conviction.
