When asked if she felt like an empty nester, Melania quickly responded, “I could not say I’m an empty nester. I don’t feel that way.” This is because Barron still lives at home. Melania explained that she raised Barron to be “his own person” and respects his decision to live and study in New York. “It was his decision to come here… and I respect that,” she said.
Melania expressed pride in Barron’s development, highlighting his strength, intelligence, knowledge, and kindness. While any mother might say the same, it seemed as though Melania was pleasantly surprised by Barron’s individuality compared to his siblings.
There are rumors that Barron might be on the Autism Spectrum, which some speculate could explain his behavior and decision to live at home. However, there has never been an official diagnosis, and such speculation remains unconfirmed. It’s suggested that Donald Trump would not allow such information to become public, as he might perceive it as a weakness.
Regardless of these speculations, Melania mentioned that Barron is enjoying his college experience. “I hope he will have a great experience because his life is very different than any other 18, 19-year-old child,” she said, though it was unclear if she was certain of his exact age.
Back in May, a source told People magazine that Melania plans to remain actively involved in Barron’s future, just as she has been throughout his schooling. “He is her world,” the source said, indicating that she is the primary decision-maker for Barron.
This involvement raises questions about how much independence Barron truly has, especially considering his decision not to serve as a Florida delegate to the Republican National Convention, a decision announced through his mother’s office.
